TECHNOLOGIES AND COMPETENCES

Romove researchers design wireless laser communications systems, based on data transmission ground-to-satellite and ground-to-air, which allow high data rates (10-100 Gbps) as their carrier frequency is orders of magnitude larger than that of radio waves and can serve without interference.

Innovative design of the laser-optical system provides much better features for communication: less noise, higher gain, fast signal response, unmatched by any other system in the world. Implementation of these innovations aims at developing a breakthrough technology for high speed data transmission.

MAJOR SPACE PROJECTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Divergence of light beam is primary cause for geometric attenuation. All commercially available FSO typically has relatively high 2-10 miliRad divergence, equivalent to a beam spread of 2-10 m at 1 km
  • our system is providing more communications signal power (-2 db compare to -5 db for ordinary optical systems) with lower required transmitted power
  • LaserLink technology provides autotracking based on piezo technology.

CURRENT AND TARGET PARTNERSHIP

  • Romove team has long-term cooperation with Electronics and Computer Science Institute. Into present project, an advanced optical modulation using signal Analog-to-Event-to-Digital converting based on periodic sampling and precise event timing will be used, basing on research of 3 researchers of Institute of Electronics and Computer Science, Riga. For marketing and sales company Sirius is great partner ready to support this business.
  • We have great opportunity to enter this big size market by help of our cooperation partners – “SAF tehnika” and “Tongyu Communications” who are well positioned to support us to distribute our product in high demand regions.
